Artists, Bands, Labels! Promote your music and help charity.

Please help us by adding your track to the Twestival-fm map. It’s easy to get involved, a lot of fun and is great promotion for you and your music. But the best thing of course is that 100% of donations from visitors to Twestival-fm go directly to Concern Worldwide. Last year we raised over $5000 and this year is bigger & better. Twestival itself raised over $250,000.

  1. Upload a track - we use SoundCloud to host all our audio. If you’re already a SoundCloud user you can automatically add a track that’s in your account. If not, it’s free to sign up and only takes a few seconds. Pick a track you want to promote and then choose whether you want it to be downloadable or not.
  2. Sign in with Twitter - to take part you’ll need to be on Twitter (after all Twestival is a‘Twitter Festival’). All you need to do is sign in and we’ll be able to send a tweet on your behalf to your fans to let them know you’ve just donated a track (like this). Plus we’ll link back to your Twitter account on the map.
  3. Tell us where you live - because Twestival is a global event we thought it would be rather cool to put your music on an interactive world map. So, of course, we need to know where you live (well just the city actually!)

Donate a track!

That’s it. Thanks for your help. Perhaps you have some questions? Email twestival.fm@gmail.com or read on below.

So what is Twestival?

On Thursday 25 March 2010, people in hundreds of cities around the world will come together offline to rally around the important cause of Education by hosting local events to have fun and create awareness. Twestival™ (or Twitter Festival) uses social media for social good. All of the local events are organized 100% by volunteers and 100% of all ticket sales and donations go direct to projects. Follow @twestival for updates. Last year Twestival raised over $250,000 in total for Charity:Water. This year all money raised will go 100% to Concern Worldwide.

And what is Twestival.fm?

Twestival.fm is a charity-basic music project that arose out of Twestival - the global Twitter festival. After all, what is a Festival without music? Last year, artists and bands on Twitter were asked to donate a track for fans to stream and download. Over 500 artists worldwide got involved including names such as Imogen Heap, Bloc Party, Howard Jones, The Rakes, Mystery Jets and Erol Alkan In just four weeks Twestival.fm raised over $5000 from music lovers around the world to contribute towards the bigger Twestival total.

What does Concern Worldwide do?

Concern Worldwide is a non-governmental, international, humanitarian organization dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of poverty. Their mission is to help people living in extreme poverty achieve major improvements in their lives - improvements they can sustain without ongoing support. Concern’s education programs currently reach over 700,000 people in 25 countries across the regions of Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Please follow @concern on Twitter to get a glimpse of their staff tweeting from around the world; including their efforts on the ground in Haiti.

Why Should I Get Involved?

The whole reason for Twestival existing is to make use of social media for good causes but by having fun and connecting people at the same time. If you’ve used Twitter and your social networks to help promote your music or your latest record then this is a perfect chance to give something back. Present a free track to your fans, but at the same time help raise awareness and money for a great cause. And it’s great exposure for you to get involved as well, Twestival is receiving a lot of attention from across the world.
